Come join us for a rare and exciting opportunity to step inside a working steel factory and see firsthand how BlueScope creates the very product that shapes our world - from the cars we drive to the building's we live and work in, even the things we didn't know we needed.
It all kicks off with a quick safety briefing at the Visitor Centre, where you’ll gear up with safety gear (PPE) before hopping on the tour bus. As we make our way through the Port Kembla Steelworks, you’ll see everything from giant machinery and towering structures to locomotives and massive piles of raw materials.
Feel the heat as we climb up to check out the Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) plant and the continuous slab caster, giving you front-row views of steel production in action. We’ll wrap things up at the Hot Strip Mill, where steel slabs are rolled into coils in a fast-paced, high-energy process.
following the factory experience, we'll continue with a BlueScope vessel tour (Subject to a vessel being alongside on the day)
Here you'll witness skills of the stevedoring teams as they load vessels bound for ports across Australia and around the world. or perhaps, you'll see the bulk raw materials arriving that are essential for creating steel - a mystery we'll uncover together on the day!
